Hussien bin Abdul Latiff

Hj Hussien Bin Abdul Latiff is an Advocate and Solicitor, a Commissioner for Oaths and a Notary Public in the Republic of Singapore. He has been in Legal Practice since 1983. He specialises in Syariah Law.

He was a student with the Institute of Technology MARA (ITM) in 1975 and graduated with a degree of LL.B (Honours) (London). He then left for London to further his studies and in 1980 he obtained a degree of Barrister at-Law (Grays Inn). He returned to Singapore and started to practice Law in the Republic of Singapore for a few years before joining Telecommunication Authority of Singapore (TAS) as its Legal Officer. In 1989, he left TAS and went back to legal practice. To date, he is still in active practice but specialises in Syariah Law. In 1993 to 1996, he enrolled himself as a student with the International Islamic University, Malaysia (IIUM) where he obtained a Diploma in Syariah Law and Practice (IIUM) and later, a postgraduate Degree of Master of Comparative Law (IIUM). He also holds a Certificate in Arabic Language (UTM). He had been the Lecturer for Singapore Company Law with the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators (Singapore) for many years.

He has lectured on Islamic Gnosticism (Makrifatullah) since early 1990s. To date he has lectured in Singapore, Malaysia (Johore, Malacca and Kuala Lumpur), Indonesia (Tanjong Pinang), China (Kun Ming) and London.

He has written many books on Islamic Gnosticism (Makrifatullah) in Malay as well as Songs on the same subjects which had been recorded on CDs and frequently aired on the Local Malay Radio Station in Singapore.

He had also been active in community works and had been appointed as an Auditor cum Councillor to the Marine Parade Community Development Council, Singapore before he retired.
